Young Socceroo John Iredale will be sidelined for up to five months after breaking a bone in his right foot while training for SC Heerenveen.
On Wednesday Iredale went under the knife to repair his foot.

Iredale picked up the complaint in training.
"After a training I had a small pain which slowly got worse over the week, but only straight after trainings, then it would go away," the 19-year-old tol FTBL.
"Then I played a game on synthetic grass and then that’s when the pain was a lot worse so we decided to get scans."
Iredale is hopeful being back on the pitch in five months.
The striker was selected for Graham Arnold's first Socceroos training camp, in Turkey in September, and was part of the Young Socceroos' squad that reached the quarter-finals of the AFC U19 Championships.
