However, if a move is to materialise it is unlikely to come until the end of the season, if at all.
According to reports, the $7.5 million rated Parma youngster - still just 20 - is being closely monitored by Everton and Brentford, as well as La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

Circati’s Perth-based father and manager, Gianfranco - himself a former professional in Italy - revealed there was also interest from at least two Serie A teams for a player whose absence from Australia’s Asian Cup squad raised a few eyebrows.

“There are some clubs from the Premier League and some from Serie A who are interested,” Circati senior told FTBL.

“That’s good and it’s nice but as I said to Alessandro his focus needs to stay at Parma (six points clear atop Serie B) because they have a job to finish. They’re only half the way through the season and they need to finish strongly.

“Then, after that, we can address whatever we need to. You must remember he’s a contracted player with Parma until 2027, and it’s important he does not lose concentration.

"For now there’s been a lot of talk, but no formal offer has been made. Of course, this interest is quite rewarding for a lot of the things he’s been doing, but he needs to keep his mind on the job.

“At the moment he’s just concentrating on helping the team get promoted. He’s been doing well but I always tell him ‘you’re only as good as your last game’ because things can change very quickly.

“It’s important to maintain focus on developing as a player and also as a person. Right now, he’s improving physically and mentally but you need to keep going. He knows he’s just at the start and progress needs to be constant.”

Circati, who made his debut for the Socceroos against New Zealand in October last year, has made 14 league appearances so far this season for Fabio Pecchia’s Yellow and Blues, and established himself as one of Italy’s most admired emerging centre backs.

Arnold attributed his Asian Cup omission to currying favour with his club as part of a longer term plan which will include Olyroos duty this year on non-FIFA dates.

But Circati senior hinted that Alessandro was disappointed to miss out on the trip to Qatar, despite the risk that intentional duty might lead to a loss of traction with his club.

“Of course he respects the coach’s decision and I’m not aware of all the details regarding the national team,” he added.

“I’m sure he wouldn’t have been very, very happy - but on the other side he has a very important task with his club to fulfill, so I’m sure he’s okay.

“It’s always a privilege and an honour to be called up by your national team, and Alessandro is only 20 and there’s plenty of time ahead of him.”
