Whilst transfer terms for the young Adelaide United attacker were agreed at the end of April, as revealed by FTBL, it’s only this week that Toure jetted to Europe to complete his medical and sign on the dotted line.

Clermont, who paid a nominal fee for the youngster, finished bottom of the Ligue 1 pile last season after three years in the top flight and are determined to bounce back at the first time of asking.

It’s likely the demotion will aid Toure’s first team prospects somewhat as he joins older France-based siblings Mohamed (loaned from Reims to Paris FC this season) and Al Hassan (Ligue 2 AC Ajaccio).

Considered the most naturally gifted of the trio, Toure made 10 A-league appearances last season for the Reds - all of which came off the bench, scoring once in 189 minutes of action.

He is joined at Les Lanciers by Melbourne Victory’s veteran former Olympique Lyonnais defender Damian De Silva, 36, a losing grand finalist against Central Coast Mariners.

De Silva, who joined Victory in January 2023, made a total of 42 appearances for the club but opted to return home after failing to agree terms on a contract extension.
