FTBL travelled to the David Barro Stadium to watch the future of NPL Victoria football and were treated to a fantastic spectacle with the Bulleen Lions winning 3-2 over the Box Hill United in the Under-16s East.

The Lions steamed out to an early lead with John Accardo, looking good in his Nike Magistas finishing off a superb bit of set up play from James Ciccone.

Ciccone continued his fantastic day by scoring a quick-fire brace starting with a smart finish in the 43rd minute, celebrating aggressively with the corner flag.

He had another shot on goal which took a cruel deflection and wrong footed the keeper and snuck in to make it 3-0.

United still had some fight in, Box Hill pulling two goals back late in the game with Ana Siraj netting the second to lead to a grandstand finish.

The game had plenty for the keen boot spotter with lots of adidas Ace 17s and also a few Nike Hypervenoms on display.

Refreshingly there was some plain black boots to counter-act the bright boots that most favoured!
