MELBOURNE Victory's stars have warmed up for their Tasmanian date against Adelaide United on Sunday afternoon with a spot of acting.
The players assembled today to film a television commercial for a club sponsor although it isn't yet clear if any Hollywood agents were on hand to spot potential fim stars.
While they wait to hear if they are destined for the Oscars one day, the players focus is firmly on football again with the bulk of the club's big hitters included in Ernie Merrick's squad to take on United on Sunday.
The friendly will be Victory's last before its season opener against Central Coast Mariners at Etihad Stadium on Thursday, August 6 and coach Ernie Merrick will use the opportunity to ready the side ahead of their Premiership and Championship defence.
Danny Allsopp and Rody Vargas are both set to feature at a venue they have graced on several occasions while Archie Thompson, Billy Celeski, Carlos Hernandez, Glen Moss and Melbourne Victory Youth midfielder Matthew Foschini are all making their first trip to the Apple Isle.
Tasmania's best footballers will also be on show, with men's (kick off 10.10am) and women's (kick off 3.15pm) representative matches between the Northern and Southern Premier Leagues to be played on either side of the friendly.
Despite defeating Adelaide in this year's Grand Final, Melbourne are yet to beat their South Australian rival at Aurora Stadium, having recorded a draw and two losses at the venue.
