NPL derby called off after horrific injury

With the scores locked at 0-0 after 22 minutes, Noon appeared to collide with the corner flag - reportedly impaling his leg - before collapsing close to advertising hoardings near the side of the pitch.

Whilst the cut is very bad, wide and deep, concerns with Noon appear to be around the tendon, early indications are that the artery thankfully wasn't sliced open by the corner flag. #NPLVIC

The game was suspended while an ambulance arrived, with a deep cut to Noon's leg requiring hospitalisation.

After consideration, the match was called off and will now be rescheduled at a later date.

To clarify, I've been told that Noon couldn't be moved as 000 said not to move him. I've been told that whilst blood loss wasn't too severe, it could have been had non-professionals tried to move him https://t.co/Aw33iN095j

Heidelberg United released a statement after the match confirming that Noon was in hospital but "doing well", having "avoided any serious tendon damage." 

"Last night they flushed out his wound to prepare him for plastic surgery today. We thank you all for your love a support."
