The Queensland club, coached by former Socceroo John Aloisi, are set finalise the deal with the 34 year old within days.

Flamini spent four years with the Gunners until a move to AC Milan in 2008 before returning to the Emirates Stadium in 2013 for another three year spell.

He initially struggled to hold down a starting place with the London club and was used as a utility player off the bench for the first few seasons before establishing himself as a central midfielder.

His time at Milan was cut short by a serious knee injury that ruled him out of the whole 2011-12 season, before he ultimately left the club as a free agent to rejoin Arsenal.

His second spell at the club proved more successful, playing 66 games in three seasons, netting three goals in the process.

His impact was hailed by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger at the time who said: “I made him come to Arsenal, I made him come back, because I think he is a winner.

“He is a guy who always wants to help the team to win and that’s why I’m very pleased for him.”

He joined Crystal Palace as a free agent in 2016 but left after one season and went without a club until for around nine months until getting a short-term deal at Spanish side Getafe where he made eight appearances earlier this year.
