According to Gianluca DiMarzio, Sainsbury could be departing Chinese Super League (CSL) side Jiangsu Suning for the Black and Blues.

The Socceroo is seen as a replacement for Andrea Ranocchia, after the defender finalished a loan move to English Premier League strugglers Hull City.

Should it happen, Sainsbury would be competing for a place with the likes of Miranda and Jeison Murillo in the centre-back position.

Inter are currently fourth on the Serie A table.

The former Central Coast Mariner made 29 appearances for Jiangsu, scoring two goals.

Sainsbury remains in strong contention for the Socceroos going forward, as they seek to secure a berth at the World Cup in Russia.

The Socceroos’ next qualifier is against Iraq in Tehran, Iran on March 23.
