Why always him?
After scoring an impressive overhead kick for Olympique de Marseille in a Ligue 1 match against Saint-Etienne, notorious striker Mario Balotelli has flung himself into the spotlight again by filming his own goal celebration and adding it to his Instagram story.

Probably most well known for his now infamous ‘Why Always Me?’ goal celebration in 2011, the 28-year-old striker captured the world’s attention again over the weekend.
The Italian ran behind the goals after scoring to retrieve his phone from a photographer who’d been holding it for him, before filming the celebration and adding it to his Instagram story.
📱😂 Probably a World first here... Mario Balotelli has just posted his own goal celebration to Instagram, as it happened!

While this is the first time we’ve ever seen a player film their own goal celebration, let alone being the first time we’ve seen one who’s been able to upload it to social media in the middle of a match, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a selfie-based goal celebration.
Back in 2015, Roma legend Francesco Totti took a selfie with the entire mass of fans behind the goals at which he had scored, a moment and photo which are iconic in their own right.

As for Balotelli, his recent move to traditional French powerhouse Marseille looks to have paid off, having scored 3 goals in his first 4 games for the club who currently occupy 4th place in Ligue 1.
Marseille’s next Ligue 1 match is ironically against Balotelli’s former club Nice, for whom he scored 33 goals in 61 appearances.
